Associate Scientist/Sr Associate Scientist - Quality Control

The Quality Control group plays a vital role in the company's overall Quality System assessing how well materials match product specification and quality standards. The candidate will work in the Quality Control laboratory at BASF Plant Science in a team performing various Molecular Biology techniques. This will include tasks like DNA extractions from plant tissue (manual extractions as well as using robotics), analysis by PCR (conventional as well as real- time PCR) and data interpretation, sequence analysis, plasmid purification and Restriction Digest Analysis. The candidate must have strong team working skills, excellent attention to detail, a profound interest in Quality and Quality Control as well as good communication skills.
Required Qualifications:
- BS degree in Molecular Biology or related field with 7 years molecular biology experience, or MS degree in Molecular Biology or related field with 4 years molecular biology experience. BASF recognizes Institutions of Higher Education that are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent.
- Strong skills in work management
- High degree of sense of detail and accuracy
- Experience working in Quality Control or a GMP/GLP environment
- Service-minded
Preferred Qualifications:
- Automation and advanced data- handling experience
- Good knowledge in real- time PCR
- Worked with sequence analysis This position is within a job family and will be filled at a level applicable to the incumbent's qualifications.
