Pioneer Hi-Bred, a DuPont business, is currently seeking a Research Associate in Moorhead, MN to serve as an active team member for maize inbred development, supporting a comprehensive maize product development, characterization, and commercialization program. The position supports all phases of planning, execution, data collection, and data analysis of field and laboratory experiments.

The Research Associate will support center activities including: planting, plot maintenance, pollinating, data collection, harvest, and seed inventory management. Conducts experiments with knowledge of plant genetics, general agronomic practices, herbicide application and evaluation procedures, crop scouting, implementation of new technologies, computer skills and experimental design and analysis. Uses Pioneer proprietary software for initiation, mapping, tracking and analysis of experiments and communicate data and information as appropriate to experiment managers. The Research Associate supervises the work of research assistants and/or temporary employees ensuring work is performed in safe and efficient manner. May be requested to assist in conducting experiments at other research sites, laboratory areas, or groups. May be requested to maintain appropriate inventory of chemicals and/or supplies necessary for the completion of experiments at work location.

A Bachelor’s degree in agriculture with 2–4 years experience in related field or equivalent amount of relevant education and experience required. Must be able to obtain a Certified Pesticide Applicator License and Commercial Drivers License. May be required to do physical lifting and work in varying ergonomic environments.
