Sales Manager, Africa
Location: Johannesburg, South Africa Two new positions have become available in our Export Department.
Responsible for separate African territories, both roles will primarily focus on targeting existing and new markets through developing and implementing sales strategies for the various commercial and retail product lines.
Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills are required to develop and maintain long-term relationships with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
The positions offer complete accountability for the success of the regions.
Responsibilities include:
- Determining the market potential by sales area of Starke Ayres’ range of products and expanding customer base accordingly
- Identifying new markets and establishing relationships with agents
- Developing and implementing a marketing plan and sales strategy, based on market potential, identified priority products and projected market share
- Placing and evaluating trials of new seed varieties
- Promoting new varieties with customers through field days and providing trial information
- Implementing advertising and promotional efforts within the region
- Maintaining an up-to-date understanding of industry trends and developments, Government regulations and market statistics within the various African countries.
Minimum requirements:
- Marketing diploma/similar tertiary qualification
- Minimum of 5 years’ marketing/technical/sales experience
- Financial acumen
- Computer literacy – advanced level essential
- Valid passport is essential.
The positions will require extensive travelling within the demarcated African Regions.
