We are seeking at the earliest opportunity a Biostatistician/Plant-Breeder (m/f) for Automation of Marker Data Analysis in Sugarbeet Breeding in a permanent position on a full time basis. You are able to collect requirements for automated analysis of molecular marker data and develop concepts and software tools as a member of the sugarbeet breeding team.

Your tasks:

• Transfer and further development of concepts for storage and analysis of big data
• Software development for automation of workflows
• Continuous check of new external software tools
• Optimize processes for data analysis in molecular plant breeding
• Direct support in breeding projects
• Interaction with activities within the KWS-R&D network
• Participation in scientific meetings and workshops

Your profile:

• PhD or MSc in plant science or statistics
• Experience in data management and programming (e.g. R or VB, C++, Python)
• Know how in process optimization
• Knowledge in genetics and application of molecular markers
• Knowledge in plant or animal breeding
• Team player and excellent communication skills
• Very good English language skills, basic German knowledge is a plus
• Reasoning power and self-initiative
• Willingness for personnel development
