Research Associate Data Management (m/f)

Location: Einbeck, Germany

The Maize Breeding Technology Team is offering for the 01.07.2017 or earlier a permanent position for Breeding Data Management (m/f).

The position is part of the worldwide KWS maize breeding team and your office is located at KWS SAAT SE in Einbeck – Germany, Lower Saxony.

Your responsibilities:

  • Administrate together with a team the breeding data system for maize and other crops
  • In close interaction with the breeding and research teams to plan and coordinate the continuous developments to optimize the maize breeding data system
  • Define and coordinate the work of the programming teams
  • Apply own programming and implementation of new modules
  • Support and train worldwide on site users on our breeding database system
  • Cooperate with data management teams of other departments at KWS
  • Support the use of special breeding hardware like printers, seed counters and mobile devices
  • Traveling to KWS breeding and research centers worldwide

Your profile:

  • University level or PhD in agronomy, plant or animal breeding, other plant sciences or scientific information management
  • Basic knowledge of Plant Breeding
  • Good expertise and interest in evaluating and structuring experimental data
  • Interest, experiences and knowledge of using database software (Access, Oracle)
  • Experiences and know how in programming
  • Excellent team player to work within an international breeding team
  • Professional written and verbal communication in German and English
  • Attendance to travel
