Area Production Specialist I
Location: Parma, Idaho, USA
Your tasks and responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of this role, Area Production Specialist I, are to:
- To ensure consistent methodology and company policy and procedure in seed production;
- Perform contract negotiations with growers and 3rd party multipliers in the designated country;
- Advise growers on proper management practices in order to meet the sales demand;
- Aide in the planting, spraying and harvesting of the contracted and company seed production in order to apply and maintain best practice procedures;
- Supervise rogueing crews and maintain log of types removed for proper history and QA data;
- Measure fields and prepare maps of cultivations hired, 30 days after sowing and/or planting to ensure accurate data and planning;
- Apply and monitor company standards: i.e., isolation, pest control seed purity, germination, disease, pollination and weed control in order to assure seed quality standards;
- Direct timely controls of specific agricultural tasks, i.e., load/unload stock roots and bulbs, identify, mark and/or destroy pollinator rows, sort and box onion bulbs in order to ensure proper quality, identity and proper delivery, inspection of bees, etc.;
- Evaluate nicking trials, production research trials and all hybrid productions in order to ensure sterility for production technique and yield improvements;
- Dissect seeds and processes mill samples to ensure further quality control determination;
- Have through continual communication and distribution of monthly reporting, keep the Area Production Manager informed of the on-going crop production activity and problems in respect to field, purity or germination;
- Timely and accurately deliver the year-end rogueing and nicking trial reports.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors in agriculture related field with three (3) years of experience in farming and/or agronomic practices OR High School Diploma/GED with five (5) years of relatable farming experience;
- Ability to obtain and keep updated Pesticide Consultants License (stay compliant to law for consulting actions);
- Be proficient with MS Office products;
- Must be capable and competent of operating various farm machinery;
- Must be able to safety lift weight 50lbs;
- Have strong communications skills both written and verbal;
- Be able to travel domestic with occasional international travel;
- Have the ability to work in the following conditions; outdoor fields with heat and dust, working within the vicinity of bee hives, and greenhouses.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Three (3) to Five (5) years’ experience cultivation/cultivation advise of vegetable crops;
- Knowledge of seed production and operational techniques used with the company;
- Be assertive in decision making;
