Field Representative

Location: Burlington, Washington, USA

The Job:

  • Help direct and manage state-specific vegetable seed production to maximize crop results and ensure client and grower satisfaction.
  • Establish, maintain, and expand favorable grower relationships including negotiating contracts, monitoring crop development, identifying potential new growers, and manage settlement payments.
  • Manage customer expectations through effective communication regarding crop status, harvest estimates, field condition reports, and critical events or circumstances that could affect yield or seed quality.
  • Manage personnel, including contract labor crews, to effectively complete field work as required to create optimal harvest results
  • Ensure appropriate field isolations are obtained and maintained.
  • Develop an annual harvest plan and coordinate with staff to ensure timely receipt of crops at the Washington State plant.

Experience and Education desired:

  • Bachelor degree in Agriculture or documented equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in field production, hybrid vegetable seed experience preferred.
