The main mission of the seed production manager is to manage and maintain high economic and operational efficiency of the internal and external production activity belonging to the HM.CLAUSE production center in Velez Malaga, Spain. The successful candidate will manage and direct all aspects of the annual production program of vegetable seeds for the production center, including workforce planning, optimize deployment of allocated resources, plan and control annual budget.
The position reports EMEA Production Director based in Portes-lès-Valence, France
Main missions:
- Supervise general administration of the center and ensure good performance of the station
- Collaborate with the Subsidiary general management to promote and implement Company policy in the station: H&S, Quality Assurance, IP, Code of Conduct, Data Protection etc.
- Supervise day-to-day organization and hiring of seasonal work force
- Guarantee the respect and implementation of labor law requirements for all employees
- Organize weekly meetings with technical staff and team leaders to plan internal work program
- Follow-up on performance of external growers, with the assistance of technical staff
- Plan production programs, supervise planning for harvest, drying and cleaning of seeds.
- Ensure that all crop data and information is correctly registered.
- Guarantee sanitary control of parent seeds before sowing in the station
- Supervise quality control of production output.
- Monitor correct execution of seed export and delivery to customers
- Supervise and promote GSPP project
- Maintain customers informed on progress and performance of crops
- Participate in production projects within the BU
- Provide monthly report on investments and production and present investment plans
- Manage financial control of the center, reporting and correcting budget deviations
Profile:
- BSc diploma in Agricultural Engineering or similar
- Good agronomic knowledge of vegetable seed production and detection of plant diseases
- Pesticide application certification
- 5 years’ experience in a similar position.
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access)
- Language skills:
- Spanish: fluent
- English : fluent
- French : operational
