• In a challenging regulatory, political and business environment the individual implements, supports, manages and proactively drives the development and implementation of a range of strategic stewardship and sustainability initiatives in defense of Syngenta’s product portfolio’s FTO across the EAME region
• Acting as focal point and sounding board for the EAME stewardship community, bring recognized subject matter expertise in the Biodiversity and Agronomy/agronomical practice area
• Act as external senior spokesperson on Agronomy, Biodiversity, Sustainability and Stewardship related topics
• Represent Syngenta in external forums, events and organizations
• Support the Head of Sustainable Agriculture and Stewardship EAME in the shaping and delivery of the Stewardship and Sustainability strategy
• Independently lead, project manage and develop assigned EAME Stewardship projects and business processes in close cooperation and integration with internal and external stakeholders, to the point of final delivery
• In particular, this function provides leadership and ownership for the development and implementation of Syngenta’s Operation Pollinator program, and its future extensions, in EAME
• Provide subject matter expertise in the Biodiversity and Agronomy/Agronomical practice area internally and externally
• Act as coach and sounding board inside the organization
• Be a senior external spokesperson for Syngenta for topics related to the defined competence areas
• Proactively support territories and countries with e.g. strategic inputs, directional guidance and practical tools
• Provide interface with regional/global functions (CP, SE) and global stewardship
• Represent Sustainability & Stewardship in key relevant business processes
• Understand in substance, trends in the market place which are likely to affect the areas mentioned above, such as new technologies, CAP reform etc.

Essential Knowledge & Experience:

• Excellent spoken/written English is a must and additional European languages are assets
• Understanding of the cultural complexity and diversity of the Region, and ability to work within such an environment
• Experience of agribusiness and basic understanding of SYT’s business or other highly regulated and/or politically controversial industry
• University education in the Agriculture area
• A post-graduate science degree is a benefit 

• Minimum of 10 years work experience in regulatory/ stewardship/ product safety/ product management/ agronomy environment in a multinational context
• Experience of cross functional collaboration with e.g. business management roles, enabling a good overall business acumen, and understanding for pragmatic challenges in/from the market place
• Track record from independently and successfully managing projects and/or business processes
• Track record from practical risk management

• University education in the Agriculture area
• A post-graduate science degree is a benefit
• Excellent spoken/written English is a must and additional European languages are assets
• Recognized expertise in the area of Biodiversity and Agronomy/agronomic practices and in particular for pollinators
• High agricultural/agronomical competence
