Trainee (m/f) Breeding Database Management
Location: Einbeck, Germany The Maize Breeding Technology Team is offering on the earliest availability a Trainee (m/f) position for Breeding database management on full time basis and for a two years term contract. The position is located at KWS SAAT SE in Einbeck – Germany, lower saxony.
Your tasks:
- Administration of our breeding database system
- Close interaction with our plant breeding teams
- Support and train users on our breeding database system
- Contribute to the development of the breeding database system and surrounding tools
- Close interaction with the programming team
- Applying own programming and implementation of new modules
- Support the use of special breeding hardware like printers, seed counters and mobile devices
- Traveling to the various breeding sites worldwide
Your profile:
- MS/PHD in agronomy, horticulture, plant or animal breeding, biology, forestry or scientific information management
- Experiences in managing data and software based support of breeding workflows is a plus
- Interest in structuring data and automate workflows to support breeding processes
- Experiences and knowledge of using database software (Access, Oracle, MYSQL)
- Excellent team player
- Basic programming skills and or statistical know how are a plus
- Professional written and verbal communication in English
- Good knowledge of German is a plus
- Attendance to travel
