Regional Sales Manager, Seeds - Central USA

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for planning and implementing sales programs, both short and long range, targeted toward existing and new markets by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.
Major Job Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements strategic sales plans and forecasts to achieve corporate objectives for products and services.
- Develops and manages sales operating budgets.
- Achieves satisfactory profit/loss ratio and market share in relation to preset standards and industry and economic trends.
- Monitors competitor products, sales and marketing activities.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners.
- Establishes and maintains a consistent corporate image throughout all product lines, promotional materials, and events.
- Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.
- Directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales programs.
- Directs market channel development activity and coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals.
- Meets with key clients, assisting sales representatives with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
- Analyzes and controls expenditures of division to conform to budgetary requirements.
- Assists other departments within organization to prepare manuals and technical publications.
- Prepares periodic sales reports, showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
- Accountable for sales, technical & agronomy support, and product training with customers in the geography.
Additional Job Responsibilities:
- Increase sales and customer retention through relationship skills, product training sales skills.
- Develop and maintain customers understanding of the benefits of high quality forage.
- Plan and implement training for Advanta private label and Advanta brand customers on forage nutrition and agronomy.
- Utilize sorghum trial programs to enhance product knowledge and training opportunities.
- Represents company at trade association meetings to promote products.
- Attend and present at various external customer meetings supporting business development.
- Attend training for further development of sales skills, techniques and knowledge.
- Adhere to health and safety policy, and other requirements relating to care of equipment.

5+ years of experience in agriculture sales management, seeds sales preferred
4 year degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
