Plant & Inventory Manager
Location: Bangalore, India PURPOSE
The successful candidate will be responsible for processing, packing and dispatch of seed as per the market demand and forecast. He will oversee all daily operations of the plant.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities for this position include:
- Efficient use of seed processing machinery so as to provide the best product in terms of physical purity to the market
- Handling the storage functions, tracking incoming/ outgoing inventory and maintaining physical stock and reconciling the same with book records and working towards minimizing the discrepancies.
- The day to day operations of the plant by maintaining optimum operations of the plant
- Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results
- Devising & implementing sound systems/ projects for improving efficiency of operations by doing in house innovations.
- Evaluate suppliers to achieve cost –effective deals • keeping an eye on worker safety & plant safety
- Monitor the machines & equipment to make sure that it stays in good working order, and repair or replace the equipment when needed and have a good preventive maintenance schedule
- Ensuring adherence to quality standards for all incoming materials. Keeping a track of the rejections from the production & QC department and coordinating with the vendors for the return of the same.
- Reducing the turnaround time for the execution of sales orders and ensuring timely deliveries
- Managing logistics functions, negotiating with shippers/transporters & clearing agents for cost effective transport solutions
- Well versed with factory act, labour laws and electricity act. Have a strength to make good relations with govt agencies and get the work done quickly
QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduate/Post-graduation from a reputed institute in Agri Engineering/Mechanical engineering with MBA/Diploma in material management
- 6-8 years related work experience is required in reputed seed company ,preferably in Vegetable seed Industry as plant Manager/In charge
- Working knowledge of Inventory management software (e.g ERP)/advance Excel Skills required:
- Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
- Ability to accurately track inventory and create reports
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong Interpersonal skills with concern of quality health and safety
- Self-motivated, with a high level of time management and organizational skill.
- Must be computer literate with knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Ability to effectively interact with all functional departments.
