Global Molecular Breeder Lead

JOB RESPONSIBILITY:
- Contribute to the development of molecular breeding strategies, implementation and follow up in agreement with breeders, stats and laboratory department
- Plan and monitor all required actions to ensure on efficiency of the molecular breeding strategy
- Coordinate with genetics, biometrics and other functional areas to develop concepts of molecular breeding into process that can be implemented into breeding program
- Provide guidance, direction, and mentoring to breeders in order to insure the successfully adoption of new methodologies
- Develop and implement the QLT mapping, association mapping, Marker Assisted and Genomic Selection, foreground and background selection into the different programs and departments • Implementation of advanced molecular breeding technologies in order to increase the genetic gain per year and dollar invested
EDUCATION QUALIFICATION:
PhD (Ag) in Plant Breeding, Genetics, Molecular Biology/Breeding or related field of study
EXPERIENCE & DESIRED SKILLS:
- Seven to ten years of breeding experience in seed industry
- Five years of experience in applying molecular markers to plant breeding
- Excellent organizational skills and project management • Team worker – ability to develop and foster teams and teamwork
- Persuasive Communication – both in public and private environments
- Leadership – ability to lead and manage support staff within a complex business environment.
