The University of California, Davis College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences is pleased to announce an open recruitment for a tenured professor and chair of the Department of Plant Sciences (http://www.plantsciences.ucdavis.edu).
The department portfolio covers a broad array of research and extension activities in the areas of ecology, genetics, and physiology of agricultural and natural systems in California, the U.S. and abroad. The department has a large effort in cooperative extension programming and mission-oriented research activities consistent with the CA Agricultural Experiment Station.
Criteria for appointment:
- A Ph.D. in plant sciences or a related discipline, a record of excellence in scholarly research in plant sciences that aligns with the interdisciplinary foci of the department, and demonstrated ability to establish a competitively-funded research program.
- The candidate is expected to have a record of strong teaching/mentoring of undergraduates and graduates, and evidence of strong outreach and stakeholder engagement experiences.
- Administrative experiences and skills are expected commensurate with the capacity to chair a large and diverse unit of faculty, students and staff.
