Engineer in Molecular Biology M / F

Context

Sakata Vegetables Europe is a subsidiary of Sakata Seed Corporation (Japan) and is responsible for the development and expansion of the activities across the EMEA area. With our wide array of vegetable seeds, we want to create a confidence-based relationship with our customers, working to our age old motto of Quality, Reliability and Service. Among our Molecular Biology laboratory, you will be under the supervision of the Biotechnologies laboratory manager. These department activities are essential for the implementation and development of our breeding programs for various vegetables species.

Missions

Regarding the implementation of new technologies among the Molecular Biology laboratory (SNP, qPCR, RT-PCR…) you will have to develop these activities to realize Molecular Marker Assisted Breeding for different vegetables species:

• Optimize DNA extraction for different species
• Follow-up the implementation and operation of the technologies
• Realize bibliographic research and exploitation of internal / external data basis
• Develop of new protocols and ensure their reliability / potential for routine
• Also, you will perform part of routine operational activities (such as files preparation, sampling, PCR operation and migration…).
• You will be involved in an international and multicultural context; a few trips have to be planned.

Profile

• We are looking for candidates with a MSc level of qualification or equivalent in Molecular Biology with a strong experience in the field, especially the implementation of SNP.
• A knowledge of QUANT6 Studio is a plus.
• You will have organization qualities as well as abilities for time management and working in a fast-paced environment.
• We are also looking for tenacious people, able to operate with a great deal of precision and attention, with relational and intercultural qualities.
• A good team-spirit is essential.
• Good use of English and office automation tools are necessary.
