For its research breeding station, in Greece & Bulgaria, The Spirou Group is recruiting a corn breeder assistant.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supervision and implementation of the corn breeding activities in Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey, Spain and contribution to planning
• Trait development corn germplasm and parental line improvement and creation and identification of new corn heterotic combinations
• Production of nucleus and breeder seed and genetic purity of materials upstream in the supply chain
• Management of the above activities on target, time, and cost

PROFILE:

• Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Agricultural Sciences with emphasis in breeding, genetics
• Extensive knowledge of corn and experience in the corn crop production. Affinity with corn and with field work is a must
• Active work in similar position min. 3 years within Commercial Seed Co.
• Experience in field work and corn breeding especially FAO 500-750 (DRM 100-130). Very good knowledge of computer applications
• Strong communication skills, ability to operate in the countries above mentioned.

Regular travel is required.
