Job Description:
Provide expertise and technical direction on CPDC projects by identifying and prioritizing materials to move forward in an advanced stage evaluation process and into field implementation. This includes results emerging from research projects, industry trials and solutions submitted to CRDF from other sources.
Lead planning processes for development of field evaluation trials of candidate plant materials. Coordinate with other CRDF Project Managers on design, cost estimates and bid solicitation for field trial installation and management of new field trials, and for analysis and interpretation of results emerging from on-going or completed field trials.
Establish databases for management of performance data emerging from field trials of tolerant/resistant candidates. This position will be responsible for data management related to project field trials and evaluation.
Report to CPDC, Board, and other interested parties on the topic of advancement of tolerant/resistant rootstocks and scions. Communicate HLB plant resistance strategies to COO and staff for reporting purposes and provide written and oral presentations and reports according to project timetables and assignments.
Review CRDF project progress reports on funded projects related to HLB tolerance/resistance and discuss progress with investigators. Deliver CPDC new project proposals and budgets for consideration and approval. Prepare quarterly reports of activity, summarizing progress and milestones towards work plan goals. Communicate resistance/tolerance project plans, and budget needs to CPDC to develop new projects and timetables for delivery of solutions to citrus growers.
Assist staff and CRDF board/committees in recruiting technical, commercial, and regulatory partners to participate in the project activities, communicate with all participants and report on progress through CPD and the Board.
