Senior Research Associate (11607BR)
Location: Johnston, Iowa, USA Pioneer Hi-Bred, a Dupont business, is currently seeking a Senior Research Associate in Johnston, Iowa to serve as an integral member of a research team focused on improving corn nitrogen use efficiency (NUE). This person will primarily support the NUE pipeline management, hypothesis based NUE lead discovery and validation efforts to develop products with enhanced nitrogen use efficiency. This person will also participate in all phases of execution, data collection, and data analysis of laboratory, greenhouse and field experiments designed to meet research objectives of the group.
The responsibilities include:
- Participate in various activities related to NUE pipeline management;
- Work with others to complete experiments and meet goals in a timely manner;
- Molecular characterization and event selection of transgenic events;
- Works to develop and implement experimental designs and protocols;
- Conducts experiments to identify hypothesis driven NUE leads;
- Compiles and analyzes data, prepares reports and gives presentations;
- Manages temporary workers; and
- Follows the safety and record/book keeping rules as per Pioneer’s policy.
A Master’s degree in plant molecular biology, genetics or other related field with 0-2 years experience or equivalent with demonstrated expertise in plant molecular biology and genomics or related field is preferred. A Bachelors degree in plant science or biological science with minimum of 2 to 4 years of industry-related experience in molecular biology and biotechnology is required.
