HM.CLAUSE, a Company belonging to the LIMAGRAIN Group (9000 employees), is specialized in research, production and sales of vegetable seeds to professionals. HM.CLAUSE employs around 1900 people worldwide and achieves a continuous growing turnover. HM.Clause is present since 2013 in Kenya with a high-tech production farm. To support its sales development, HM.CLAUSE is looking for an experienced Product Development Manager for Kenya.

Main responsibilities include:

• Collect and update market data information
  • Evaluate market size, describe characteristics, anticipate evolutions, and suggest development and sales strategy.
  • Watch over and follow up prices, performances and positioning of products from HM.Clause and competition.
  • Be up to date with the vegetable seeds administration requirement and main actors.
  • Take active part in preparing the Forecast.
  • Synthesize and report weekly activity and monthly report under the format requested by the Area Manager.
• In connection with the Area Manager, building the trial plan, field realization and results monitoring.
  • Manage the sample requests and the sample stock from reception to sowing.
  • Supervise and realize when necessary trials sowing and planting.
  • Compare and evaluate varieties to the reference.
  • Summarize and share the results.
  • Evaluate the sales potential.
  • Identify the added value of a new product in Kenya
• Introducing and promoting the HM.Clause products in Kenya :
  • Launch and promote the new products.
  • Prospect and follow-up the key account customers.
  • Promote the technical results to the producers
  • Build the product sales points and characteristics.
  • Build in collaboration with the Area Manager the product life cycle (PLC)
  • Suggest and follow-up the product registration.
• Keep up with a high level of communication, organization and time management in order to be proactive and compensate the distance from the headquarters (France, USA).

Qualification : BSc degree in Agriculture / Horticulture (Honours / Masters degree an added advantage)

Experience : Minimum 3 - 5 years’ experience in the vegetable industry in Africa. Experience in trial management, market data collection, sales and relational skills. International profile – person able to travel internationally. Cross functional culture skills

Languages : Fluent English, Swahili and others African languages appreciated.
