Valoya is a provider of energy efficient LED grow lights for professional use. Valoya LED-lights have been developed using Valoya's proprietary LED technology and extensive plant photobiological research. Valoya's head quarter is in Helsinki, Finland and our customer base includes numerous greenhouses and research institutions all over the world.

We are now looking for a Plant Biologist based in Germany with a strong commercial focus for the West and Central European markets.

• The candidate ideally has an MSc or PhD in biology, agriculture or similar with practical experience.
• A degree may be substituted by extensive experience in the relevant field which also will determine your exact role.
• Your background could be in a seed company, biotech industry or similar research focused environment where operations are process oriented and result driven.
• You must be able to work independently with customers consisting of research institutes, universities and companies of various sizes focusing on plant breeding and/or research. Understanding of various breeding methods is essential and knowledge of laboratory work is a plus.
• Basic understanding of photobiology as well as research methods, analysis and result quantification is required in order to successfully cooperate with customers.
• For you, it is self-evident that meeting, calling and cooperating on a daily basis with your peers is the way to form a long term customer relationship.
• This means proactive, execution driven customer interaction including extensive travelling within the designated geographical territory.
• As you interact with customers on all organizational levels, good communication skills, both written and oral is a must.
• You are a native German speaker with excellent competence in English.
• Further language skills is a plus.
