Advanta is seeking a highly motivated Senior Breeder in Cauliflower with the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary Research Team.

The Incubent must work closely with breeders, biotecnology and pathology team utilizing superior Advanta gene pool so as to bring novel technology in near future. He is also responsible to develop tropical and sub-tropical cauliflowers with high yield and disease tolerance. He must also aware the changing scenario of cauliflower market, farmers demands and easily motivate himself to deliver the required products. This is a unique opportunity to the incumbent to work with cutting edge technology and talented research scientists seeking to deliver the best in important core vegetable crops such as peppers, tomato, eggplant, okra, cauliflower, gourds and melons.

Main Activities will be as below:

1. Knowledge and CMS conversion, inbred line development and hybrid development.
2. Assist in breeding program of meeting targets of markets.
3. Develop & execute breeding strategy within budgets: Purification of parental lines & diseases tests.
4. Coordinate sowing, hybridisation and pollination work & transplanting
5. Observing, assessing and selecting the developing crops.
6. Traveling field stations, markets.

Education Qualification :

M.Sc / Ph.D. in Plant Breeding & Genetics from Reputed Agricultural University.

Work Experience :

1. 6-10 years experience in seed industry.
2. Sound knowledge of crop breeding, Statistical analysis and molecular breeding techniques.
3. Breeding of complex traits and successful new varieties.
4. Excellent knowledge of crop agronomy
5. Excellent Computer skills and people skills.
