DuPont Pioneer is currently seeking a Research Scientist in Johnson, Iowa.
The Scientist in this position supports multi-crop initiatives.

Description:

The successful candidate will work in a highly team-oriented environment managing projects, managing a group that is involved in genotypic data analysis, conducting special projects and communicating with customers and collaborators.

Lead the group that analyzes and reports the genotypic data. Monitor data quality and scoring. Assist in troubleshooting as needed. Communicate issues and updates to scorers at global labs.

Lead projects aimed at improved customer support and/or efficiency as needed. Track projects through the lab processes and prioritize the jobs according to due dates.

Provide customer support for soybean product development and other crops as needed. Develop new analyses to answer questions from the field. Supports multiple crops and breeding stations. Analyze molecular marker usage and additional parameters. Act as liaison for regulatory and compliance needs.

Provide leadership to junior scientists. Proactively develop people, keep the team organized and productive. Facilitate information flow between team members, the project leader and senior management and other parts of the company.

Scientist would exercise independent judgment in developing methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for driving results.

Scientist would anticipate, embrace and lead the change in the highly dynamic and result oriented organization. Scientist would adopt and drive DuPont Pioneer core values.

Qualifications:

Ph.D. in an agriculture or related scientific field with 2-4 years of experience or Masters degree in agriculture or related scientific field and minimum of 6 to 8 years of industry related experience is required, or equivalent amounts of relevant education/experience may be considered.

Must be able to manage customer liaison and data analysis for the assigned crops and initiatives while meeting rigorous deadlines. Demonstrated technical excellence and leadership skills in the field, excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated success in developing staff, leading project teams. Statistical background is preferred. Experience in industrial setting is desired.
