Warehouse Manager
Location: Hollister, California, USA Job Summary:
Responsible for all of the activity of the Hollister seed warehouse, including inventory, receiving, seed conditioning, seed treating, and shipping.
Responsibilities:
- Maintaining an organized, accurate inventory in locations which provide easy access and efficient movement of seed, packaging material and other supplies.
- Maintain adequate inventory of packaging materials and treating supplies.
- Insure the procedures for seed movement, packaging, conditioning, treating and shipping are being applied.
- Training, directing and motivating people working in the warehouse so they know there job and work in a safe manner.
- Be responsible of the maintenance and repair of the equipment used for packing, conditioning, treating and moving seed.
- Organizing the warehouse work flow of seed to be efficient and timely according to the requests of internal and external customers.
- Provide a clean and safe environment for people working in the warehouse.
- Maintain costs according to approved budget.
Tasks:
- Enforce safety rules and regulations.
- Review Shipping, Seed Conditioning, and other Seed Movement orders, and schedule and direct workers to the activities required to meet shipping dates.
- Check documents to confirm seed was handled, packed and identified correctly.
- Check that equipment has been seed cleaned.
- Inspect equipment to insure they are safe, are being maintained and are performing properly.
- Set up system to order packing material and other supplies in time to avoid delays in seed deliveries.
- Check documents for incoming and outgoing shipments and approve shipments can be sent.
- Oversee the receiving, documentation, and location of all seed and supplies entering the Hollister facility.
- Move seed inventory to containers and locations to save space and maintain quality.
- Insure all seed movement is documented and recorded into IT system.
- Co-ordinate the movement and number of personnel working in the Hollister warehouse facility.
- Maintain records of time, materials, expenditures, personnel activities.
- Submit reports on work activities, work-related accidents and personnel conflicts.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to speak and write in English, and speak Spanish.
- Must be computer literate in Outlook, MS Office and internet.
- A High School diploma and minimum 3 years of experience in warehouse management in a SEED COMPANY.
Salary: at Manager level, compatible to the experience and capacity demonstrated during the job interview.
