We are seeking at the earliest opportunity a Bioinformatician/Plant Breeder (m/f) for automation of marker data analysis in sugarbeet breeding, KWS SAAT AG, Einbeck / Germany on a permanent position on a full-time basis.

You are able to collect requirements for automated analysis of molecular marker data and develop software tools in collaboration with several working groups and within the team.

Your remit:

• Collect requirements for data analysis in molecular plant breeding
• Join activities on concepts for storage and analysis of big data
• Software-based automation of workflows
• Continuous check of new external software tools
• Interaction with activities within the KWS-R&D-network
• Participation in scientific meetings and workshops
• Support in breeding projects with marker application

Your profile:

• PhD or MSc in plant science or statistics with focus on data management and statistics
• Experience in data management and programming (e.g. VB, C++, Python, R)
• Know-how in process optimization
• Knowledge in genetics and application of molecular markers
• Knowledge in plant or animal breeding
• Team player with excellent communication skills
• Very good English language skills
• Reasoning power and self-initiative
• Willingness for personnel development
