Role:

• Based on company’s business plan to develop corresponding bioinformatics strategy and roadmap to achieve the goals.
• Lead and organize resources and efforts to design and build bioinfomatics structure, achitecture, and infrustructure.
• Lead efforts to develop softwares, application tools, and databases, including working closely with software developers and vendors to make sure these softwares and tools are developed, tested, installed, and applied.
• Integrate and analyze diverse biological and molecular datasets, which include but not limited to molecular markers, genes, QTL, and protein datasets, and strengthen capability to integrate them with field databases for data mining, gene discovery, IP protection, and product development.
• Lead internal efforts to develop user friendly breeding related tools and use different visulization tools to display important information and data analysis results.
• Provide leadership to, and participation in, key projects both within the Bioinformatics function and across multiple R&D functions.

Qualifications:

• Ph.D. or equivalent experience in Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology, Genetics or a related field.
• Strong understanding of marker technology, breeding, statistics, product development and genetics.
• Strong computational skills including knowledge of available bioinformatics tools, data sets and computational strategies to solve genomics and genetics problems.
• Demonstrated leadership and communication skills to lead a team of 30+ people.
• Fluency in Chinese and English and be ability to effectively communicate complex problems and solutions in both languages.
• 8+ years professional experience in bioinformatics or computational biology
• 2+ years management experience leading teams.
