Research Associate, Sugar Beet
Location: Einbeck, Germany KWS is one of the most innovative and long established plant breeding and seed companies worldwide. For more than 150 years we have been breeding and marketing high performance varieties for the modern farmer. Our key crops are sugar beet, corn and cereals as well as oil seed crops and potatoes. Our core markets are in the temperate climate zones of Europe, North and South America as well as China.
We are seeking for October 1st, 2013 a Research Associate (m/f) Sugar Beet on a full-time basis, initially for a three year fixed-term contract.
In the course of a three year research project you will work in the sugar beet breeding team of KWS in Einbeck, Germany.
Your remit:
- Design, evaluation and analysis of various genomics and phenomics projects on the basis of plant physiology
- Support the integration of non-invasive greenhouse phenotyping tools
Your profile:
- PhD or MSc in plant breeding, plant physiology, plant biology or related fields
- Strong background in plant physiology, molecular biology and genetics
- Knowledge of assessment and analysis of plant physiological and architectural properties
- Experience in the analysis of larger data sets of phenotypic and/or genotypic data
- Excellent team player and communication skills
- Very good English language skills
- Attendance for travelling
