Research Associate, Marker Application
Location: Einbeck, Germany KWS is one of the most innovative and long established plant breeding and seed companies worldwide. For more than 150 years we have been breeding and marketing high performance varieties for the modern farmer. Our key crops are sugar beet, corn and cereals as well as oil seed crops and potatoes. Our core markets are in the temperate climate zones of Europe, North and South America as well as China.
We are seeking at the earliest opportunity a temporary maternity and parental leave cover for the position of Research Associate (m/f) Marker Application for the maize breeding team of KWS in Einbeck, Germany.
Your remit:
- To plan and coordinate DNA marker analysis for maize
- To coordinate the worldwide applied tissue sampling and sample management
- To genetically and statistically evaluate and report the marker data results
- To support the development of tools for enhanced marker data evaluation
- Getting member of an international team of plant breeders and researchers
- To visit and to learn about breeding stations in Europe and other countries
Your profile:
- Master degree or PhD in agronomy, plant breeding, animal breeding or biology
- Experiences in the structuring and evaluation of marker data
- Good knowledge in plant breeding and / or molecular genetics
- Interest in data processing and management
- Experiences and knowledge of using standard office software, eventually also databases and statistic software (R)
- Excellent team player and communication skills
- Attendance for travelling
