Job Description    

Professionalize the sales organization with vision and leadership to meet customer and market demands

Function

• Design and implement the commercial strategy for INCOTEC in the European market, in correspondence with the overall Business Plan of INCOTEC Europe Veg. & Orn. and anticipating developments in the market.
• Plan and implement the annual sales budget and achieve the annual budgeted results in terms of volume, price, margin, products and customers.
• Contribute to the design of the strategic Business Plan of INCOTEC Europe Veg. & Orn.
• Manage and coach the Customer Service and Sales Support departments and a team of 6 (key) Account Managers located in The Netherlands (3), Spain (1) and Italy (2).
• Ensure the development and execution of professional account management resulting in optimization of customer/consumer relations and business opportunities.
• Create an environment which will foster employee engagement, accountability, team work, professional development and high levels of employee satisfaction. Lead and build a performance driven culture.
• Oversees management of Global Accounts and the preparation, discussion and closing of agreements of larger projects such as license-agreements, turn-key projects etc.
• Support the development of sales plans and account plans by collecting market information and indicating market trends.
• Ensure good communication with the R&D and Production departments concerning product market or customer developments.
• The Commercial Manager Vegetables & Ornamentals reports to the General Manager INCOTEC Europe Veg. & Orn.

Job requirements

• BSc. or MSc. in Plants Sciences (e.g. Breeding and Genetic Resources, Pathology and Entomology, Crop Science etc.) complemented with training courses in leadership and/or sales and/or marketing management.
• A proven track record of successful (international) business, marketing and/or sales management in horticulture or agriculture, preferably in the seed industry or related (crop protection, fertilizers, etc.).
• Understanding of the driving forces of Agribusiness and decision-making processes in complex multinational organizations.
• Experience in a B2B & service provider environment would be advantageous.
• Fluency in English is required and proficiency in Dutch and/or other additional languages would be preferred.
• Willing to spend a significant amount of time travelling in Europe.
