Strategic Account Manager
Location: Fairfield, Maine, USA Johnny’s Selected Seeds, a leader in the Commercial Seed Industry, is seeking a full time, year round Strategic Account Manager. Johnny's is an employee-owned seed producer and merchant whose mission is, " helping family, friends, and communities feed one another by providing superior seeds, tools, information and service." As an employee owner with Johnny's you could be part of a select team focused on delivering personalized service.
This position will be responsible for all Strategic Account activities for assigned accounts or regions, managing targeted margins and goals while providing market and technical product information leading to customer loyalty and repeat business. This position will serve as a liaison between the company and its customers, expanding client base and maintaining a good client relationship. This position requires experience and knowledge preparing proposals, presentations and sales contracts.
Job Requirements
- Present and sell company products to current and potential clients.
- Engage in business planning and long term development with clients; establishes productive, professional
- relationships with the key personnel in assigned strategic accounts.
- Meets assigned targets for profitable sales and volume and strategic objective in assigned accounts.
- Responsible for managing, supporting and servicing the account related needs of an assigned set of
- strategic customers.
- Develop a targeted account plan for revenue and account retention and growth.
- Prepare presentations, proposals and sales contracts.
- Assist with product development, pricing and forecasting.
- Prepare a variety of status reports, including activity, closings, follow-up, and adherence to goals.
- Communicate new product and service opportunities, special developments, information or feedback
- gathered through field activity to appropriate staff.
- Develop and implement special sales activities to reduce stock.
- Represent a knowledgeable, efficient, and professional image of company to partner relationship by handling business in a respectful and professional demeanor.
Essential Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit in front of a computer 85% of the time.
- Ability to access all areas of multiple locations.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to travel.
Education Requirements
- Business degree preferred.
- 5+ years in sales account management-preferably in the B2B market.
- High energy and strong business acumen and work ethic are essential.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills with the ability to effectively articulate information to
- clients.
- Detail oriented with strong analytical and organizational abilities and experience.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities. Responsive to unanticipated circumstances and can quickly shift
- priorities.
- Ability to work independently, build relationships and work well with customers and JSS internal team
- members at all management levels.
- Proficiency with PC’s, Microsoft Office products and Sales Management software.
- Maintain a professional appearance and provide a positive company image to the public.
- Requires both Domestic and International travel-visits to current and potential clients and trade shows.
