For the Company’s activities in Breeding Technology we seek a Project Lead in Cell Biology (full time).

The objective of this position is to contribute to the development of hybrid varieties of the company, mainly Allium and Crucifer crops. You are based at one of the R&D sites of Nickerson-Zwaan in The Netherlands, and you report to the Head of Trait Genetics & Genomics.

Your tasks & responsibilities:

• Initiate, lead and execute research projects or multidisciplinary programs aimed at the development and implementation of technology leading to innovation of the hybrid development process
• Strengthen the knowledge base of the company within the field of cell biology and expanding our freedom-to-operate and intellectual property position
• Provide functional and direct leadership to individuals and teams
• Maintain, build and leverage internal and external networks to support delivery of company goals

Your profile:

• PhD in Cell Biology and/or Genetics or related fields within the Life Sciences
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Working experience in or with the (seed) industry
• Excellent command of the English language
