For the strategic expansion of its unique market position in hybrid cereals, Saaten-Union Recherche is creating a hybrid barley breeding department.
To support this development we are hiring a Senior Hybrid-Breeder (m/f)
Your mission:
You are the lead breeder for a CMS-based Hybrid-Barley Breeding program with an international focus: this includes developing the concept and the realization thereof and working on a continuous evolution of the program.
You are responsible for the entire program, from creating pools to crossing and finally selecting elites, experimental and commercial hybrids for the commercially relevant markets of Europe.
You lead your own team and carry full budget responsibility.
Your Profile:
You have a degree (MSc, Dipl.) in agricultural sciences, agricultural biology or biology, with a focus on plant breeding; PhD is a plus.
You have 5+ years of experience in the field of hybrid breeding, no matter which crop.
You have a deep understanding of quantitative genetics and biostatistics.
You speak French + English fluently. Knowledge of German is a plus.
You are willing to travel 30-40% annually to monitor your European trial network.
You are fluent in common breeding software and know how to use and maintain databases.

Your compensation will be based on your experience, but will include incentives and a company car.
