Technical Sales Manager, The Americas
Location: USA or Mexico Magnum Seeds is a Research and Production company based in Dixon, California. We develop hybrids in 7 vegetable classes for sales in North and South America, Middle East, North Africa and Southern Europe. We sell new varieties to various distributors on an exclusive or semi-exclusive basis. We are a small company with activities worldwide and with strong market presence in Mexico, Middle East and Southern Europe.
POSITION SUMMARY:
- Responsible for Sales and Customer Account Management in the Americas.
- Manage the activities of Mexico Product Development Manager.
- Work directly with Plant Breeders, as a team with the Europe/Middle East/North Africa Sales and Product Development Managers and Magnum Seeds Account Administrator
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage customer relations, sales, forecasts, Contracts, product promotion, development and Marketing
- Direct Management of the Product Development Manager in Mexico
- Work together with the Breeders, Product Development Manager and Production department to develop product plans for new and pre-commercial products
- Control and manage sampling of hybrids to customers
- Manage the allocation of new products to customers
- Assist and participate in production planning meetings, field visits and visit other Magnum Seed trial locations and Research Stations
- Attend to any product complaints and product liability claims
- Prepare and send General Manager a monthly activity report
- Complete expense reports in a timely manner
- Maintain Company vehicle and equipment
- Assist Mexico Research Manager in breeder trial evaluation in Culiacan
- Attend Trade Shows, Conventions, Expos and other industry related functions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Physically capable of handling the necessary field work for the position
- Ability to communicate in English effectively and work as part of a team to accomplish company objectives
- Ability to speak Spanish a plus
- Willing to travel extensively, mostly internationally
- Computer proficiency in Excel, Word and Power Point
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor of Science degree in agriculture or related field and 10 years minimum experience in seed industry
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to interact with customers, Dealers and growers to coordinate activities efficiently
