Job description

Reporting to the global program manager, you will be in charge of the company’s lettuce breeding activities with the objective to meet market expectations.

Main missions

• Carry out the development of new lettuce varieties according to the company expectations on the US market
• Take part in research process needed before and for the program development
• Scientific and technical watch
• Stay in touch with public research and maintain scientific collaborations
• Intellectual property : close watch and files draw up
• Team up with sales agents and local marketing department so as to perceive and understand market’s expectations
• Deliver appropriate varieties to the sales team
• Fit in transverse projects with Vilmorin / Limagrain Group, especially on pathologies and biotechnologies
• Link up with the world Lettuce team around the world

Profile

• PhD, Master’s degree or degree in agriculture or agronomy from an engineer school, with a major in genetics and plant breeding
• Successful first work experience in the development of vegetable varieties or crops
• Skills in biotechs and plant pathology
• Speaking Spanish would be a major asset
