Summary:

Ensure the best quality seed production and processing for the company.

Essential job responsibilities:

• Master operator of all processes from initial seed receipt through final packaging of product. Mastery of cleaning equipment, gravity tables, sizing, rotary’s, dryers, coloring and chemical application equipment, and packaging.
• Accurately follow the process and documentation, and status pass-off at shift change, to assure no product is mis-tagged, or mixed with different seed.
• Works with minimal direction by Supervisors and Quality staff. Ability to move into and fill the supervisor position when needed.
• Comfortable with PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) that is occasionally required for position which may include: dust masks, hearing protection, safety glasses/goggles, and gloves and ensure all related safety policies are followed.
• Works effectively as a team member with co-workers.
• Willing and ability to cross-train in other positions to meet business demands, as needed by Betaseed.

Qualifications:

• Two years experience in seed production.
• Excellent communication and strong organizational skills.
• Multitasking aptitude is highly desirable; P.L.C. equipment operation is required
• Ability to lead a processing crew in seed processing functions, make decisions in the supervisor’s absence and take ownership for the product produced.
• Forklift experience min. 1 year preferred or demonstrates ability to operate safely in confined work areas.
• High Mobility, able to bend/twist and climb.
• Proficiency with MS Office products.
• Able to work extended shift duration and varying hours; Able to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. using safe lifting strategies
•  Ability to pass background check and must have valid driver’s license.
