DESCRIPTION:

The Product Manager will coordinate activities across the organization to ensure successful delivery of products to market. This person will report to the Director of Product Management. Please visit us at www.ceres.net

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Define an overall product plan for the crop(s) including product specifications, release dates, projected sales volumes, projected pricing, etc.
• Overall coordination, determination of development priorities and delivery timelines from initiation to first commercial release of all products in the crop(s)
• Supportive role in other crop product lines
• Coordinate with Business Development and Sales to ensure that product plans are designed to meet anticipated market needs
• Coordinate with R&D, Breeding & Agronomy, etc. to ensure that activities are aligned to deliver on product timelines
• Assist in managing collaborations involving the crop
• Coordinate with Seed Operations to ensure that activities are aligned to deliver on anticipated volume needs
• Coordinate with Agronomy to assure agronomic practices for assigned crops are understood and communicated to customers
• Coordinate with Marketing and Sales to develop a product marketing plan
• Coordinate with Regulatory for issues (e.g. herbicide labeling, movement of materials, growing permits, etc.) related to the crop
• Lead Product teams to develop product introduction, production and inventory plans for assigned crops

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated success in influencing without authority
• Self-starter with ability to handle multiple initiatives
• Entrepreneurial spirit and team player
• Flexible and able to adjust to changing priorities
• Minimum of BS in Science, technical expertise in plant science, agronomy or molecular biology
• 5+ years relevant experience (e.g. product management, R&D management, engineering experience, etc.)
• Understanding of biofuels and/or agricultural biotechnology industries
• Ability to speak Portuguese and/or Spanish a plus
