Country Manager, Poland

Location: Krzeszowice (Krakow area), Poland

HM.Clause, belonging to the Limagrain Group (6000 employees), is specialized in research, production and sales of vegetable seeds to professionals. HM.Clause employs around 1300 people worldwide and achieves a continuous growing turnover. HM.Clause acquired a main office and research station in Krzeszowice (Krakow area) with 16 employees (13 employees in the research station and 3 technical sales promoters). The General Manager will manage the next step in the development of Clause in Poland by building a full size company with emphasis on the commercial department.

Role    

Responsibility for all activities of the HM.Clause subsidiary in Poland

  • Drive the high potential of HM.Clause sales development in Poland, direct the subsidiary operations to meet budget and other financial goals.
  • Be responsible for people management: build, manage and develop the sales and product development team as well as the back office staff. Encourage and support a team-based spirit within the station.
  • Develop and structure the distribution network, manage payment terms and credits.
  • Manage the budgets both for sales and operational expenditures.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting to the main office in France.
  • Facilitate the set up of IT tools for billing and back office activities.
  • Manage and administrate all operational activities of the Research & Breeding station, as well as the development and maintenance of the station’s infrastructure and equipment including, buildings, laboratories, greenhouses, and other affiliated assets.
  • Be responsible for budget control, and accounting procedures.
  • Manage and ensure compliance of all applicable regulatory and compliance requirements in Poland, concerning safety, legal, and environmental regulations.

Profile        

Sales driven leader with excellent organizational skills


Job requirements

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Agriculture / Horticulture.
  • At least 5 years of successful experience in a leading commercial position in comparable industries for example crop protection, fertilizers, field- or flower seeds.
  • Established relationships with individuals and companies within the agricultural or horticultural industry.
  • Fluent in Polish (or willingness to learn) and English.

  • Strong organizational skills, can demonstrate the ability to initiate and manage multiple projects, with the end-result in mind.
  • Outstanding selling and coaching abilities.
  • Well-developed communication and presentation skills.
  • Team player who efficiently facilitates teamwork
  • Ability to develop employees and teams.
  • Proven record of leadership, ability to engage employees into new or different directions.
  • Ability to work autonomously and to make independent decisions.
