Pre-Commercial Seed Processing Supervisor

Location: Tangent, Oregon, USA

SUMMARY:

Manage the pre-commercial inventory using a WMS and seed processing, returning the highest quality of requested seed at the right stage and time.

ESSENTIAL JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Manage the cleaning and treatment processes and processing team (3-6 people) by balancing customer demands and capacities
  • Continuous Improvement- Offer and implement improvement techniques/ideas, create training and cross-training programs ensuring you have a well-balanced team, generate/update/maintain SOP’s, and plan for and communicate long-term goals and objectives (5-years—10-years)
  • Cross-train with commercial production supervisors to ensure your processes are current and are aligned with the fast-changing Betaseed processing standards.
  • Quality and purity is our highest priority. Continually manage quality data to ensure your seed meets or exceeds standards. Make appropriate adjustments when it does not (knowing it may require assembling a cross-functional project team)
  • Use a WMS to create, monitor, and close production orders. Ensure all inventory and statuses are accurate addressing any discrepancies as a high priority. Implement corrective action to minimize/eliminate inventory and status discrepancies.
  • Report creation- Includes production updates, quality data, capacity reports, recovery data, etc.
  • Will be part of miscellaneous project teams including but not limited to production improvement and systems support
  • Attend regular meetings with internal customers providing updates and progress reports

 QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
  • 3-5 years of production experience (prefer seed processing experience)
  • WMS experience is strongly desired
  • Excellent communication, analytical, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask is imperative
  • High proficiency using MS Office products (Excel and Access)
  • Ability to obtain a forklift certification
  • Ability to pass background check and must have valid driver’s license.
