Plant Breeder – Cotton, corn, rice, sorghum, pulses, oilseeds, tomato, chilli, onion, melons and gourds

Desired qualification:

• Ph.D. in Plant Breeding and Genetics with 2-3 years of relevant research experience or M.Sc. (Ag) in Plant breeding and Genetics with 5-6 years of experience in seed industry or public institution.
• Need to be a team player with good interpersonal skills and ability to travel extensively.
• Passion for research and sound knowledge in crop breeding procedures with demonstrated ability to use statistical packages.
• Need to be self motivated with good communication ability.
• Good knowledge of agricultural production systems and on the application of molecular tools in breeding programs.

Job Profile:

• Planning and execution of the breeding programs and identification of marketable products.
• Maintenance and multiplication of breeder seed to meet targets and goals of the Company with high quality seeds consistently and timely.
• Development of new genetic material by using new or advanced breeding technologies.
• Collection, evaluation, characterization, maintenance and documentation of germplasm.
• Co-ordination of all field activities, crop management and breeding activities.
• Conducting trials and breeding nurseries and its evaluation in multiple locations.
• Compilation of data and its analysis to draw inferences.
• Preparation and submission of crop reports and statutory reports.
• Designing and implementation of new breeding methodologies.
