Ernst Benary of America, Inc., a Global Leader in Flower Seeds and the development of Horticultural products such as Annual Bedding Plants, Perennials, and Pot Plants 
has a position for a Flower Breeder at our Watsonville, California location.

Essential Job Functions

• Development of new and improved varieties; working knowledge of traditional and alternative genetic based breeding methods
• Complete and thorough documentation of all projects with organization in all aspects of maintenance, descriptive information, and documentation of pedigree
• Work within established goals and objectives
• Work with Grower staff regarding planting, growing and producing breeder seed
• Gather Technical information to support breeding products
•  Support the company in Sales efforts with new products and product information
• Manage expenses within scope of each Breeding project, and Department Budget.
• Adhere to company-wide policies and procedures
• Comply with Safety programs and other aspects of regulatory compliance
• Work closely with all employees and office staff to ensure efficiencies

Requirements

• Ability to organize seed based breeding project or vegetative product objectives
• Excellent written and verbal skills required
• Must possess the ability to multitask in  a fast paced environment
• Need to be a detail oriented team player with strong organizational and communication skills; create a team approach
• Must have prior knowledge in the Flower Industry concentrating on large grower and end user consumer
• Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus but not a requirement
• Some international travel required

Education

• Must have an MS in horticulture and 5 years minimum experience in the industry
