JOB DESCRIPTION:

With this international network of expertise, BPS is especially well equipped to be a leader in plant biotechnology, creating and commercializing innovative products to help keep the world's growing population well fed in the 21st century.
 
The Business Manager is responsible for developing and delivering the financial results for operational plan for current year and a 3 year business plan for Thurston Genetics' foundation corn business and BASF's value added corn.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Develop a Business Plan that provides guidance for business growth and operational execution (1 to 3 years)
• Works closely with Product Development and Sales to align business goals
• Authorizes production, forecasting and inventory management
• Develops trait strategy and establishes and maintains legal freedom to operate through licensing as necessary
• Develops and maintains contractual and legal framework for operation of Thurston Genetics and NutriDense businesses: develops necessary licenses, material transfer and other testing agreements, and sales agreements as necessary
• Develops long-term strategy to determine growth and expansion opportunities
   

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED:

• BS or MS degree in Agronomy, Breeding or Business related degree with 5 years experience in product development, sales and/or marketing in the corn seed industry OR minimum of 10 years experience with product development, sales and/or marketing in the corn seed industry
• Demonstrated success in achieving sales and profit budget
• Demonstrated knowledge of the seed business operation from production to harvest
• Demonstrated experience in as supervisory role
• Ability to use multiple presentation methods to effectively communicate to broad customer base
• Strong interpersonal skills, to include verbal, written and presentation skills
• Willingness to travel up to 25%
