Hazera Genetics is a leading global player in breeding, production and marketing of innovative hybrid seeds of vegetables.

For the company activities in Almeria, Spain we seek a (Senior) Pepper Breeder (fulltime)

The objective of this position is to develop competitive hybrid pepper varieties for the Spanish market. You are based in the Almeria area and report to the Pepper Breeding Team Manager of Hazera Genetics in Israel.

Your tasks & responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Lead and execute a Breeding Program targeted for the Spanish market
• Co-ordinate breeding activities in Israel and in Spain related to the Program
• Team up with Product Managers, Product Development specialists and Technology providers to assure close contact with products, markets and customers, and efficient adoption of technologies and traits.
• Strengthen the knowledge base of the company within the field of breeding and crop knowledge, and expanding our intellectual property position.

Your profile:

• MSc or PhD in Plant Breeding, Genetics or a degree in related areas
• Experience in vegetable breeding, preferably pepper
• Experience in vegetable growing, preferably pepper
• Excellent communication skills, and good command of the English and Spanish languages
• Self-motivated team player/leader
• Good project management skills
• Team work skills.
