BASF Plant Science (BPS) is seeking to appoint an innovative and experienced Biotechnology Regulatory Scientist based in Research Triangle Park, NC, U.S.A. The individual selected for this position will be responsible for assuming some of the protein related work for conducting safety assessments of proteins expressed in BASF Plant Science's crop products. He/she will be responsible for ELISA validation and sample analysis together with recombinant protein expression, purification and characterization. The regulatory science lab operates under Good Laboratory Practices.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
Required:
- BS plus 10 years research experience or MS plus 7 years research experience or Ph.D plus 2 years research experience. Degree must be in the areas of protein biochemistry, molecular biology, plant biology, horticulture, agronomy or related field
- Experience in the following techniques:
- Protein purification
- Protein characterization
- ELISA
- Western blot analysis
- SDS-PAGE
- Ensyme assays
- Spectroscopy
- Experience in documentation and writing study protocols and high quality technical reports
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication, and teamwork skills. Detail and results oriented
- Self motivated and able to work independently
Preferred:
- Knowledge of mass spectroscopy as applied to protein sequencing
- Experience in a GLP environment
- Working knowledge of agriculture biotech regulatory requirements
