About this program:
The Production & Supply Development Program (PSDP) is a rotation-based program providing three rotations, in various geographical areas, exposing associates to diverse experiences, with a total program commitment of three years, and a minimum of one geographical move required.
We are currently recruiting undergrad and graduate students graduating in December 2021 or May/June of 2022 for the Production and Supply Development Program (PSDP). Locations are at any of the Production and Supply (P&S) sites within the United States.
Role Purpose
The focus of the program is to establish a pool of highly motivated and well-rounded future leaders in the organization. As a PSDP Associate, you will learn and acquire business knowledge, skills and attributes required for placement into future leadership or management positions within P&S at Syngenta. The learning and development will be at an accelerated pace with the expectation to perform at levels above your peers.
What will you be doing?
There are currently three tracks to choose from in the P&S Development Program. Within the chosen track there are multiple options to gain maximum exposure to various areas of Production and Supply that will help you develop your career path in a way that meets your individual needs. In addition to the individual technical knowledge gained, cross-functional leadership training, coaching and mentoring will be conducted for all.
AGRONOMY/SEED OPERATIONS TRACK
- BS degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Business, Agricultural Systems Technology, Agricultural Engineering, Plant or Crop Science and other agriculture-related majors
- Specialization in Seed Operations, Parent Seed Characterization, Seed Technology and Production Processing Technology
- Assist Plant Management in planning and communicating acreage selection to growers. Work with Plant Management Team to set schedules, manage and determine workforce needs. Provide training and maintain a safe work environment in accordance with HSE policies
- Locations: CA, IA, ID, IL, NC, NE, WA
Physical Demands:
- Position requires being able to walk seed production fields in any weather, including hot and humid conditions
- Position may require working seven days a week during critical time of year
- Position will require non-traditional schedule
PRODUCTION/PROCESS ENGINEERING TRACK
- BS degree in Chemical Engineering
- Specialization in Chemical Synthesis and Formulation, Fill and Pack
- Complete assignments in Production Process Technology Development or Plant Engineering and Unit Operations
- Support to Capital Projects and Production Start-ups, Pilot Plant Scale up and Development
- Locations: LA, NC, NE
Physical Demands:
- Position requires being able to walk a Crop Protection (CP) production site sites in any weather, including hot and humid conditions
SUPPLY OPERATIONS TRACK
- BS or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Operations, Logistics, Management, Business discipline or related field
- Complete assignments in support of Operational Planning, Logistics, or Indirect/Direct Procurement areas
- Other potential assignments may include Asset planning, Lean or Digital Data Management
- Locations: LA, NC, NE, IA, WA
Qualifications for the program
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Recent graduate in relevant courses of study (see track details above)
- Willingness to relocate as needed to pursue rotational opportunities
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
- Prior Internship or Co-op experience
- Valid driver’s license
- Critical Knowledge Skills
- Effective communicator
- Comfortable with ambiguity
- Self-starter with initiative
