You will enhance the prosperity of farmers by:
Supporting the local vegetable portfolio decisions and the sales execution with planning, execution, and the evaluation of the Stage 6+ trials. You will leverage local trial outcomes to refine product positioning. You will plan New Product Introductions and campaigns, while maintaining long term demand plans. You will ensure local market needs are well represented upward.
Accountabilities
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of the changing market trends and grower needs
- Provide high, scientific, technical, specialized product expertise in vegetables
- Develops and implements with the regional teams the annual sales plan including detailed actions with customers and channels
- Translate the Regional Trial Plan into detailed territory and Crop Unit plans
- Plan standard varieties, trial seeds allocation, key trait evaluation for PLC 6 trials and plans with the Marketing Operations Leads and organize demonstration trials
- Plan and evaluate key trials with key producers and organize with Technical Sales Representatives
- Collect trial results and data and consolidate into Territory Trial Reports
- Refine the product positioning for launching varieties and define the key buying factors
- Input variety forecasts for three years forward and review for Seed Production
- Give technical support to key producers, leverage technical knowledge to the Sales teams and provide after sales support
- Provide investigation support for customer complaints
- Develop strong customer interaction and trust in targeted western growing areas
- Organizes demand generation activities aligned with overall company goals
- Initiates and maintains contact with present customers (growers and channel partners) and other identified customers
- Proposes annually the forecast for the commercial varieties and informs of changes to CU manager and has deep understanding of fluctuations
- Key contributor to marketing, business and financial planning and strategies
Qualifications
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy or Horticulture, or equivalent field experience
- 8+ years of experience in the Vegetable Seed industry or equivalent in vegetable production
- Ability to implement new market and business development plans to achieve profitable growth
- Ability to forecast sales and budgets
- Trial set up, planting and evaluation experience
- Vast knowledge of the Fresh Market and Processing market industry.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to develop and maintain productive work relationships with associates, dealers, grower customers and related industry personnel.
- Ability to travel on a regular basis throughout the assigned territory, and to company/industry meetings as required
- Position requires up to 80% field travel, with higher concentration in Desert Southwest area
- Ability and willingness to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions
- Ability to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
