To support that challenge, we are currently seeking a Human Resources Business Partner for our North America Vegetables and Flowers group in Gilroy, CA.

You will help shape the future of agriculture by:

  • The role is a member of the NA Flowers Leadership Teams and plays a significant role as an HR leader, acting as role model and ambassador for HR within the business.
  • The role may also be assigned as the HR Business Partner for a section of the NA organization within the Vegetable Seeds business
  • It has also an important influence in the HR Community as HR Business partner, sharing practices, bringing up the voice of the business and employees for internal continuous improvement and employee experience.
  • The role will understand the business and environment that the NA Flowers and some Veg groups are facing. It supports the leadership teams to develop and deliver the respective people and leadership agendas that will ensure effective profitable growth and employee engagement.
  • The incumbent will drive local initiatives for any organization restructure & change, and the development of talent, fuelling the talent pipeline and driving the D&I agenda
  • The HRBP will be responsible for key projects in each of the business client groups but also for the enhancement of the Seeds HR Community.
  • Will lead the relevant HR work streams for planning and delivery of key projects to achieve defined objectives by ensuring delivery on time, at high quality, within the parameters of the budget and by meeting business needs.
  • Main target will be to contribute to build a world-class Veg &Flowers Seeds organization and which is set up in a sustainable way for future requirements in a competitive manner.

Accountabilities

  • Contribute to set and implement the strategic people agenda for the client groups embedded in the context of the NA Veg& Flowers Seeds BU using broad knowledge of the business, leadership and culture
  • Create and drive the short-, mid- and longterm actions to bring the strategic people agenda to life, support change acitvities and organization design
  • Drive for strategic and operational retention management and help with the branding of the BU and Seeds businesses
  • Coach and challenge leaders to develop individual leadership and organizational capability and resources required to enable delivery of their business strategy
  • Contribute to a regional network of HR BPs working in the relevant business/function in order to share plans, steer delivery of HR projects and Functional agendas and deliver a coherent and joined up HR support
  • Work closely and creatively with the CoEs to design, develop and implement HR projects and programs to deliver the business/function strategy, as well as supporting the CoEs in design of practical and business relevant HR processes
  • In collaboration with local HR, ensure delivery of operational support to the leaders as appropriate (e.g. internal and external recruitment, internal moves, performance management challenges, providing advice on leading and supporting their direct reports etc.)
  • Build effective employee partnerships and consultation processes with representative bodies and unions, and contribute to regional consultation processes as required
  • Responsibility for the HR Business team’s statutory/regulatory duties within the geography ensuring there is appropriate focus and governance in place to monitor and manage compliance

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree and Broad HR experience as HR Business Partner (5+ years)
  • Experience in an international company with structured HR policies & processes and in a complex/matrix organization
  • Strong influencing, coaching and communication skills
  • Bilingual English/Spanish desired
  • Travel requirements domestically up to 20%
  • Must be authorized to work for Syngenta in the United States without work authorization sponsorship
