Position Details
Sales Representative for the Southern region of Mexico. Develop and maintain sales contracts with key international accounts and customers in the designated area.
Duties and responsibilities
Sales
- Manage and administer all international sales for all customers, assigned distributors and key accounts in the designated sales area.
- Responsible to set the price list for each variety and in each market. Manage and instruct CSR to create proformas, provide information needed including prices and advise needed export documentation according to customer’s instructions and other governmental requirements for targeted markets.
- Actively participate in and attend conventions and trade shows, field days that will help maintain and develop our business relations with existing customers and attract other potential customers.
- Responsible to write sales contracts for designated territory.
- Place seed production orders from varieties with production department based on inventory to request seeds for the Sales Program. Out-source varieties for the designated areas applying relations with suppliers.
- Responsible to investigate and solve any issues related with the quality of our seed.
- Provide forecast for the sales of designated territory.
- Provide the production department all production quantity requested to assure the availability of the seed.
- Provide market intelligence and surveys, detecting trends and market changes of the seed industry in this territory.
- In coordination with the accounting department help with collections.
- Identify opportunities to develop new markets and segments in the designated area for our seed varieties based on the existing breeding and research pipeline.
- Manage the organization of seed samples with the PD for trials from new and/or old varieties. Making decisions on products advancements, allocations according to reports of trials reported by PD.
- Coordinate with breeders and PD applicable research trials. Help PD to evaluate the material to discover new varieties for the market when possible.
- Identify opportunities for out-sourcing varieties in different crops for the region and establish relations with the suppliers of the out-sourced varieties.
- Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
Position Dimensions and Qualifications
Educational Level and Focus: Bachelor’s in agriculture and/or have the experience to perform the Job.
Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word; Excel; Outlook and Powerpoint) and plant breeding database applications.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
- This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Knowledge of vegetable crops, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the profitability of the company.
- Ability to collaborate with a diverse team and build strong working relationships.
- Excellent time management.
- Ability to balance goals within logistical and budgetary guidelines.
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
- Adept at focusing attention to detail.
Physical Demands: Must be able to work in the office Greenhouses and fields under extreme conditions, be physically fit to walk, bend, kneel, squat, bend your neck and lift up to 30 lbs.
Travel: Domestic and international travel is required, approximately 90% of the time.
