Salary Range: $124,342.00 to $172,500.00 / Per Year
The National Clonal Germplasm Repository (NCGR) for Citrus in Riverside, CA is seeking a Supervisory Research Horticulturist / Plant Pathologist / Geneticist. As a Supervisory Research Leader (RL), the selectee will lead a team that is responsible for optimizing the repository's collection of diverse citrus and date crops through evaluation of accessions, optimal clonal propagation and seed regeneration, active germplasm back-up for preservation, and effective genetic resource maintenance. Responsible for maintaining and enhancing creativity and productivity of the repository genebanks. Conceives, plans, and directs research or is actively involved with the planning along with others. Conducts independent research in support of the NCGR’s mission. Serves as the unit fund holder and provides internal and external technical information and consultation. Hires personnel and manages human, fiscal, and physical resources. Ensures the proper interpretation and reporting of scientific research results and information.
