To support that challenge, the Vegetable Seed Health Operations Team is currently seeking a Quality Control Technician in Nampa, ID.
You will help shape the future of agriculture by:

Supporting laboratory activities related to testing of vegetable crops with an emphasis conducting seed health testing on vegetable seeds.

This effort is to support Quality Control testing for basic and commercial seeds with the goal of delivering a customer focused world class supply.
Accountabilities
-
Support HSE compliance and continuous improvement for all QC testing activities.

Perform assigned tasks in the seed health laboratory to meet demand levels and ensure optimum capacity is met
-
Support testing activities in virology, PCR and liquid plating
-
Participate in seed testing processes that are conducted in accordance with the Syngenta protocols and the National Seed Health System Rules

Support QC laboratory and testing activities as required by testing volumes
-
Support complaint and claims investigations through diagnostic testing

Communicate sample test results and maintain accurate records
-
Provide testing support and analysis in making quality decisions related to inventory disposition that is compliance with Syngenta’s risk management policies, codes of practice, standards, and KPIs

Support the development and validation of new seed health testing methodology

Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Requirements
-
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in biological science or related area
-
Experience in a laboratory or quality testing related function. (preferably in a seed company).

Must have good computer skills, particularly in Excel, SAP, and/or other databases
-
Hands on experience with laboratory processes for seed health testing
-
Knowledge of Quality Control Laboratory Processes

Ability to work with various and diverse cultures and work habits
-
Ensure that all testing results are completed according to the Syngenta protocol and results are reported accurately in a timely manner
-
Must be authorized to work for Syngenta in the United States without work authorization sponsorship
