Breeder (m/f/d) Corn Breeding Eastern Europe

Location: Wanzleben-Börde, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany

You are enthusiastic about applied plant breeding, you are already familiar with corn breeding and you enjoy working in an international team of corn breeders and researchers? Then start with us from July 2021 (or earlier) as breeder (m/f/d) for silage/grain corn Eastern Europe within KWS SAAT SE & Co. KGaA on a full-time and permanent basis at one of our German corn breeding stations.

Your key tasks and areas of responsibility:

  • Management incl. budget responsibility of the existing corn breeding program for silage and grain corn of the central markets Russia and Poland
  • Further development and implementation of the material strategy according to the strategic targets and the business strategy for Eastern Europe
  • Ensuring the development of a competitive product portfolio for the two core markets Russia and Poland
  • Efficient targeted integration of new modern breeding tools into the breeding program
  • Continuation and further development of cooperation with the other existing European corn breeding programs
  • Ensuring intensive cooperation with KWS' breeding stations in Klein Wanzleben (near Magdeburg) and Russia

Bring in your potential:

  • Academic degree in plant breeding with proven practical experience
  • Good plant breeding and quantitative genetic knowledge as well as experience in analyzing field trials
  • Initial experience in an international, interdisciplinary working environment
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Reliable, independent working style combined with a strong team spirit
  • Fluent English required and good German language skills desirable
  • Willingness for extensive business trips at national and international level up to 50% (especially Russia, Poland and South America)
