The Logistics Coordinator will lead and maintain all areas of the logistics and regulatory requirements. The primary focus includes supporting sales, production, and warehouse inventory. The position is also responsible for coordinating all inbound and outbound seed shipments for both domestic and international customers, including seed production vendors.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Logistics
- Coordinate global seed movement ensuring compliance with country, state, and local requirements.
- Coordinate inbound & outbound process planning and documentation. Manage import process from overseas entities.
- Coordinate drop ships; allocate seeds, create sales order, process and ship. Include all necessary tracking and movement in ERP system.
- Manage supply chain vendor relationships; including service reporting, contracts/agreements, and corrective actions.
- Provide consultation to production locations and carrier to resolve situation or issues that arise concerning transportation. Significate phone and email communication supporting shipping needs for finished and raw seed movements.
- Recommend and establish best practices for our site(s) on issues such as carrier selection, continuous moves, assessorial fees and exception approvals.
Regulatory and Compliance (15%)
- Researches and advises on regulatory compliance as related to import and export of seeds. Pursuing and maintaining brand registration. Identify and address compliance issues and recommend process changes.
- Ensuring that US regulations are followed; working with corporate compliance, finance and US government agencies. Understanding of Agricultural import permits and phytosanitary compliance for seed movements.
- Serve as the U.S. Department of the Treasury Office of Foreign Assets Export Control Compliance (Manager/Officer)
- Serve as the U.S.D.A. - APHIS Plant Protection and Quarantine Primary contact
- Serve as the US Customs and Border Protection Duty Drawback Program Manager
Education Level and Focus: Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration or related preferred; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge in international business; specifically imports and exports.
Technical and Analytical: Knowledge of: Inventory Control Systems, Microsoft Word; Microsoft Excel; Microsoft Outlook.
